Launchinga series of activities on green growth for students

In the morning of October 2nd, the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Planning and Investment) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched the “Green Journey”.It was kicked off by a student meeting on green growth and a contest for sustainable consumption concept.
A series of activities called “Green Journey” is carried out as a journey across the country to approach environmental students at nine major universities in three regions: the Northern, Central and Southern of Vietnam. The purpose is to motivate students to learn about green growth and to contribute innovative ideas that are highly applicable to the realization of the National Green Growth Strategy.
The program expects to positively impact the community, raise awareness, change the behavior of people about green production, green lifestyle and sustainable consumption... and launch the contest for students.
The ideas are judged based on the possibility of practical application, originality and creativity; particularly,the modelswhich have been successfully tested in practice are prioritized.
After the launching ceremony on October 2nd, the contest for sustainable consumption concept will be open until October 31st, 2017. The final round will take place between November 2nd and November 7th, 2017. The award ceremony is scheduled on November 14th, 2017 in Hanoi.
In addition to cash prizes, the winning ideas will be introduced to potential investors.
