The Danang University of Technology and the Solar Serve Vietnam have so far donated over 1,200 solar cookers to poor households in the central region from Danang city to Ninh Thuan.
The Solar Serve Vietnam, founded by representative of Netherlands humanitarian organizations Johannes Van Beek, grants 30,000 USD a year to support the project. The donation aims to encourage the use of solar power to reduce environmental pollution and save other energy resources. The project plans to provide 10,000 more solar cookers to poor people in central region by 2010.
